ok it turned up today
heres a step by step guide to any aftermarket head unit
im still not feelin that great since highclere so if i miss somthing then i will say sorry now as my minds not all there
got very short attention span, feel like im close to death half the time and want to just sleep the rest, and no energy
hence hardly any posts in the past few days
anyway
it goes like this
easy to fit, easy to use took 40 mins to fit and an hour to read the book and sort out phone conectivity, my fault not the head units
how to fit
lift arm rest on centre console, remove rear upper 2 philip screws
if auto, not sure if the manual has the same, remove outer ring around gear selector
pull handbrake up as high as you can
lift upper part of the centre consol from rear first and angle up towrds fron of dash
then at around 45degrees remove from handbrake by slipping forward
once removed, remove the 2 side panals of dash, they just clip in and will come out
now you will need to go in through the removed side panels and remove the 2 plugs for the air control
drivers side has a small clip you push in to release the conector
pasenger side has a tilting lock mech that you push up anti clockwise and it will release the conection
next remove the 6 7mm nuts around the outer edge of the centre panel
once removed gently tilt the centre panel from the bottem upwards and at again 45 deg pull slightly down to allow the upper tab to release the panel from the upper dash pad
once you have enough clearence release the 3 connectors to the info /12v power connector and the hazrd switch
now the panel can be removed
next remove the 4 7mm screws surrounding the shacker 500 and gently bring the shacker forward and release the connectors
now if you have bought an iso connector connect it to the large connector on the left
now connect the stereo lead to the iso connector, put the arial back in, connect the gps lead and dab tv if you bought that too, if not, put the 2 tv connectors down to the right so they have easy acsee if you buy one at a later date by just removing the centre console and the drivers side panel
screw the new head unit in, i found only 2 of the 4 bolt holes lined up but i did them up tight and no movement
you will need a stereo facia as ive found a gap around mine but will try and get a universal one in the morning
there are 2 push in pins on the centre panael cover that push in between the stereo mounting bolts, due to my mounts i could not use these so i cut the pins off
refit the panel inc electrical connections and scew the 6 bolts back in
refit the side panels and the console and your ready to go
i mounted the gps reciver on the dash in the corner infront of the a panel trim and fed the wire down around the dash, gentley pulled the side panel out and fed the wire around and down till i got to the bottem of the dash and then cable tied it to the loom all the way to the dash centre
ok problems i had
manual wasnt that good so ive downlaoded all of the parts, as in the head unit and my mobile phone and the gps software
first make sure the gps software is set to the uk not denmark
make sure you know how to pair your mobile phone in bluetooth
and then create an mp3 disc with at least 40 albums on it on a dvd
buy an sd card and find some films in avi format that you, your missus or the kids love
put these on the sd card
and then drive
if you buy the one i did, make sure you set the bass and treble up before
my bass is set to 6 and treble is set to 4
ive found that you cant alter it once musics playing or it stops and then restarts, well its cheap so it has to do somethings different to the shaker
had my daugther with me for the first time in 4 months today and she helpd to fit it, so i took her for a pizza hut tonight, and on the way she watched twilight on route and the sound was fantastic
if you need to know more just ask
will try the sat nav properly tomorrow and make a few phonecalls
