Another Newbie signing in.

Say hello then get involved..........

Another Newbie signing in.

Postby Bazza on Fri Jul 23, 2010 9:16 am

Hi guys,

Just introducing myslef, my name is Barry (known as Baz or Bazza to my friends and family). I have been lurking over at MOCGB and got introduced to this site. I'm from Suffolk just north of Ipswich and have seen a couple of S197's in the area.

I don't as yet own a Mustang, but intend to buy one in the spring next year (if not sooner). Currently looking at 05 Mustang GT's with the intention of taking part in Mustang activities.

I have previously done a few Euro Trips and Track days with previously owned marques including a Honda Civic Type R and more recently a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (which I unfortunately wrote off last summer). My current car is a Chrysler Crossfire which doesn't have much of a club presence which I miss with the Type R and the EVO.

My passion for Mustangs started last summer during a business trip over to Chicago. I saw a Mustang Shelby GT500 launch from the lights after I was admiring it. From then on I knew I had to own one someday. :)

At the moment the wife is keeping me and my wallet occupied with home improvements, so as soon as thats done the Mustang will sought.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Welcome Baz/Bazza/Barry,

Same old story as the rest of us, once you're hooked there's no going back and Id really be interested in seeing how you get on with the s197 after those other cars - dynamically it won't compete (unless you heavily mod it) but it has so much personality that I reckon the others you've owned will soon be a distant memory.

Enjoy - here's a starters guide.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the link to the starters guide.

Its the character (and noise) that attracts me too the Mustang. My days of tearing up the tarmac on my favourite B Road are over thanks to the Magistrates!

As I'm on the side of law and order, I'll suggest that's thanks to you! ;)

Glad to see you made it over here :)

For the money, you won't be the S197 for character, noise or smile factor! Good luck in the search. Once you narrow down exactly what you want, we'll all help track one down. I love virtual Mustang shopping

Yep, your right, my first trouble with the law in 17 years of motoring see's me up in front of the magistrates for careless driving and 5 points on my license. Always had a clean license until then. You live and learn and nobody else was involved.

Well, I do have my eye on the Windveil Blue 05 GT at Bill Shepard Mustang but that will be long gone by the time I'm ready to make the jump.

But I'll sure run any possible purchases through you guys on here before biting the bullet.

That's a nice car at a nice price. I'm surprised they've had it for a little while now as I thought it would have been snapped up :)

Welcome Bazz. As everyone else has said, do it as soon as you possibly can. You will not believe how much fun owning one of these cars can be until you experience it.

Good luck with your search...

Hi Bazza. Buy one asap. Its a bit of a buyer's market right now, so put your money into American muscle rather than home improvements. Best investment you'll ever make - the smile per mile return is exceptional! :rock

You won't regret it. :D :D :D :D :D :D
